Game Story
LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Montreal Expos put on a rare power
display and salvaged their series finale with the Los Angeles
Dodgers.
The Expos hit three home runs in a game for the first time this
season and snapped their six-game losing streak with a 6-4
victory over the Dodgers.
Orlando Cabrera broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning with his
third homer of the season, a solo shot off Los Angeles starter
Hideo Nomo (3-3).
The Dodgers loaded the bases with none out in the seventh, but
Chad Codero retired the middle of the order on two popouts and a
fly ball to escape unscathed.
The next inning, Juan Rivera ripped a two-run homer and Brad
Wilkerson added a solo shot in the ninth to complete the scoring
for Montreal.
Sun-Woo Kim (1-0) worked five innings, giving up two runs and
four hits, lowering his ERA to 1.17.
The Dodgers scored two runs in the ninth off Rocky Biddle, but
Juan Encarnacion, who had homered earlier, popped out with two
men on to end the game.
