Game Story

PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida (Ticker) -- Zach Day allowed one hit 
over seven innings and Brian Schneider and Brad Wilkerson
homered off Tyler Yates to power the Montreal Expos to an 11-3
rout of the New York Mets in the Grapefruit League finale for
both teams.

Day, who will start the second game of the season against
Florida, gave up a single to Jason Phillips in the fifth inning,
walked two and struck out four in his final spring appearance.

He fared considerably better than Yates, who struggled in his
first outing since he was named to the starting rotation by Mets
manager Art Howe.  The 26-year-old righthander surrendered
seven runs and seven hits in four innings.

Schneider hit a three-run homer off Yates in the second and
Wilkerson added a two-run shot in a four-run third that made it
7-1.

Vance Wilson led off the bottom of the ninth with his second
spring homer for New York.
